This past weekend our sweet Bryson was admitted to the hospital for Croup. It came on so fast we had no idea what it was. Thursday night he went to bed with a little fever but I wasn't worried about it because it's cold season. Friday he sounded like he had a cold and had a cough with it. When he woke up Saturday morning he sounded like a seal! It was so sad to hear him breathe and talk :( I called my friend who's a nurse and asked if it was just a cold or if I needed to bring him in. She thought it could have been a cold that turned into pneumonia so she told me to talk him in as soon as I could. I got him an appointment an hour later and when we arrived at the doctors office they rushed us in because they could tell he was having a hard time breathing. They diagnosed him with Croup which is pretty much swelling in his air way so he couldn't breathe. They tried to give him a breathing treatment but he just screamed and wouldn't have it. They gave him a shot of steroids hoping that would help but unfortunately it did nothing so she sent us to the Children's Hospital in Phoenix. The doctor thought he needed to be transported to hospital because his breathing was so bad but the more crying he does, the worse it gets, so she decided to just let me drive him over. I was a wreck driving to the hospital because I really had no idea what was going on with my baby!! We went straight to the ER and they got us in right away and had a Respiratory doctor come check him out. He ended up giving Bryson 2 breathing treatments and so after the 2nd one they admitted us to the Hospital so they could observe him overnight. Poor kid was so exhausted and hungry and had no idea what was going on! Once we got upstairs to our room, the nurses came in to check him and since he has a Respiratory sickness the nurses and doctors have to wear gloves, mask and a plastic shield over their scrubs. Let's just say Bryson did not like that at all! I was finally able to get to him sleep around 9pm, YIPPEE!!! They had to come in like every 2 hours to check him and make sure everything was okay so needless to say, we didn't sleep much that night! We were finally discharged around 1pm Sunday and able to go home, YAY!!!
Bryson went in for a check up Monday morning and the doctor didn't like the sound of him so he prescribed him more steroids for the next few days. He is doing much better today! So glad to have it all over!

in the ER and not feeling good
so sleepy!
he was out within a couple minutes of laying down. didn't even move his arms.
the jail beds!
fell asleep with mommy while watching Cars. you know he doesn't feel good when he sits still long enough to fall asleep
we could see the water from our room and he wanted to see it so bad! he was finally able to see it when we were discharged, yippee!!
So sorry to hear Bryson has been sick but I'm also glad to hear that he's better. I hate it when my kiddos are sick, it's so stressful. Good job getting him into the Dr.
